Your website is running with CMS Joomla 1.5.x & eCommerce Virtuemart 1.1.x:

1. TO INSTALL VMCONNECTOR 1.1.x versions:

   Go to your online Joomla administrator screen and install it as a MODULE not a COMPONENT
   
   

• Download the VMConnector evaluation version for PHP4 or PHP5 according to which PHP version is running on your Joomla / Virtuemart website server:

  
  - VMConnector Joomla-VirtueMart native module (v.1.1.38 Eval for Joomla 1.5.x and Virtuemart 1.1.x)

   

• CAUTION: To make sure that VMConnector will install without any error you need to check the following:

   

• Within the Joomla admin screen, select the menu : Help / Sytem Info / PHP Information (tab)

   

• Search for the PHP parameter “upload_max_filesize”

   

• This parameter needs to be set to 4MB minimum.
  

   

• If this parameter is set to 2MB, please ask you ISP to increase it to 4MB and it's not possible, please contact us for instructions.
  (NOTE:If your ISP does not allow you to change this parameter, please contact us to build a specific package for your with a size lower than 2 MB)

   

• When the “upload_max_filesize” parameter is set to 4MB minimum,  from the Joomla Administrator screen, select menu: Extensions / Install-Uninstall

   

• With the "browse" button, select the VMConnector ZIP file you have downloaded and select the button "Upload File & Install"

   

• Once VMConnector module is installed successfully, make sure that the IONCUBE loader part used by VMConnector is functioning properly , to do so, please test from your website the following URL and read carefully the result:

  
  ...yourWebSite.../modules/mod_vmconnector/ioncube/ioncube-loader-helper.php

   

• If you have any trouble to install VMConnector due to IONCUBE, please check this FAQ.
  
  NOTE: IONCUBE default inluded packages within VMConnector ZIP file are for Linux and Windows 32 bit.
  Other IONCUBE packages are available from IONCUBE main site: IONCUBE loader packages for other server .
  
  Within VMConnector ZIP package, just replace the IONCUBE directory with the right IONCUBE server package.

2. TO TEST VMCONNECTOR from your own PC, download either or both:

• Our free VMCClient sample open source (v.1.5.88) client for VMConnector, you can reuse and even expand it for your own needs (required to be compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 ).

• Or, VMCClient sample setup version (v.1.5.88) (MS Framework 3.5 - setup will prompt you for download if required)

• CAUTION:

  
  To test from the VMCClient (VB.NET sample) you need a Joomla administrator ID and password, this ID needs to be also defined within Virtuemart Shopper's information tab with permissions = admin. (Faq link)

3. CLIENTS FOR VMCONNECTOR:

   The VMCClient for VMConnector is an 100% functional open source client working between Virtuemart and and MS Excel, it can be changed an customized to connect directly to your own databases or systems.
   
   

   Depending on your operating system or requirements, you may write other PHP, C++, Java, Python, … client programs to query and upload VirtueMart data through VMConnector for your own accounting applications or to populate the VirtueMart Catalog directly from your existing product databases.
