• VMConnector webservices is a Joomla installable module specific to VirtueMart for upward & backward compatibility with VirtueMart versions.
  
  
• VirtueMart data/information can be accessed with VMConnector through Internet/Intranet with http/https protocol (URL regular addresses: http://www...) which is not the case of most other solution providers which implies a direct connection through TCP/IP:port with ODBC drivers to read the VirtueMart or OSCommerce data.
  Most ISPs (Internet Services Providers) where you host your website will not allow TCP/IP:port connections for security reasons, the direct consequence is the impossibility to use this type of tools with your VirtueMart website through Internet which is not the case of VMConnector module!
  
  
• VMConnector works both ways, upload and download information from VirtueMart.
  
  
• You can maintain your VirtueMart Catalog categories & products from your existing products databases and applications.
  
  
• You can update sale orders status within VirtueMart when processed within your local accounting application, to retrieve only unprocessed sale orders next time!
  
  
• You can either use either standard Excel spreadsheets or CSV file to export all your sale orders related information (sales, customers, payment types, products sold, ...) or you can integrate VMConnector webservices functions within your existing accounting applications (Sage, Quickbooks, TinyERP, ...) for longer term and full automated solutions (like Cyrus.ch).
  
  
• Most concurrents only reads data from the eCommerce databases; they do not allow to return information to the source.
  
  
• VMConnector webservices works both ways through VirtueMart business logic and validation framework to respect data integrity.
